Hangover 2 Lawsuit Resolved... For Now!

Mike Tyson Tattoo Artist Lawsuit Won't Stop Movie Release

Now who’s ready to go to Thailand this weekend?!!

That’s right, the only real thing threatening this weekend’s release of The Hangover Part II has just been resolved enough for the release to go on as planned!

Unfortunately for WB, it looks like the tattoo artist who is bringing down the lawsuit hammer will still move for this to go to trial — but that’ll be much later and not affect the (we’re guessing incredibly) huge release this weekend:

“We are very gratified by the Court├óΓé¼Γäós decision which will allow the highly anticipated film, The Hangover 2, to be released on schedule this week around the world. [The tattoo artist’s] failed attempt to enjoin H2 in order to try and extract a massive settlement payment from Warner Bros. was highly inappropriate and unwarranted.”

And here’s what the artist’s group said:

“[We are] pleased by Judge Perry’s finding that Mr. Whitmill proved a ‘strong likelihood of success’ on the merits. We look forward to further vindicating our client’s rights at trial …. including a permanent injunction preventing further distribution of the movie.”

At this point we could care less, because we’re heading to the movies this weekend! LOLz!

Ha! We kid, because we’ll still be interested in seeing how this has an effect on our legal system viewing what is and isn’t intellectual property!

Are U going to see The Hangover Part II this weekend??
