Did you miss him?
Charlie Sheen has inked a new deal with Lionsgate Television to star in a new sitcom that could possibly make him more money than ever.
He won’t be getting paid the outrageous $2 million per episode that he received on Two and a Half Men, but he will getting more out of the deal when it comes to syndication. So, if the show is a hit, Charlie will basically be rolling in the dough.
And, in case you were wondering, his role will be similar to his character on Two and a Half Men, but, you guessed it, even raunchier.
By pitching the show to cable networks like TBS, Charlie will have the creative freedom that he’s always desired.
An insider says:
“Networks and cable are bidding on the show right now, with TBS being the front runner.
[Lionsgate Television] has committed to ten episodes up front with the option to pick-up and produce 90 more episodes if the ratings prove to be successful. This means the sitcom could be on TV for 8 years, which is a long time! It also means that Charlie will make more money than ever before!”
And if something should happen, like Charlie having a meltdown or something (crazy thought, right??), Lionsgate wouldn’t lose so much money since they’ll paying less upfront.
Seems like a win-win situation for everyone.
Even though we weren’t a fan of the way Charlie handled the whole Men/Chuck Lorre sitch, we will be glad to see back on TV. Having a steady job seems to keep him preoccupied, which means no more lame Tourpedos!
