On July 24, gay couples in New York will officially be allowed to tie the knot and City Hall is preparing to perform services for MANY happy couples in New York City. We’ve just been told that one very famous couple will be on that very line bright and early to proclaim and solidify their love for each other:
Rod and Ricky!
You know, the same-sex puppets from the Tony Award-winning musical Avenue Q?
Hey! They’re here, they’re queer and they’re in lurve! It’s happening people! Get on-board!
The show’s producers announced the couple will exchange vows on the landmark day before hurrying back to the theater for Q’s matinee performance. Of their upcoming nuptials, Rod says:
“To have this finally happen for us — especially so soon after Will and Kate — is unbelievable to me. I realize there are a lot of broken hearts out there now that Ricky and I are off the market — step back, all you chorus boys! — but I’ve known since Day One that Ricky is the husband for me. He’s the furry fellow I want to spend my life with both on and off the stage.”
That is just so … where are the tissues?! We’re going to lose it!!! They are just so brave!!!
No, seriously, we couldn’t be more thrilled for New York! We’ll be 3,000 miles away, but each and every one of you will be in our thoughts that day!
