On Saturday, we were pleased to announce that The Lion King 3D was the leader at the box office. Go Simba!
Now, the final numbers are in for the weekend, and unfortunately Sarah Jessica Parker’s new flick I Don’t Know How She Does It did NOT do well AT ALL.
SJP’s new comedy brought in $4.5 million, landing it a sixth place spot behind ASkars‘ Straw Dogs, which opened at #5.
Here’s what Weinstein Co. president of theatrical distribution Erik Loomis had to say about the SJP movie:
“It was disappointing. We ran right into a freight train called The Lion King. Overall, women really like [I Don’t Know] a lot. It really plays to that audience. So hopefully they’ll find more time for it during the week.”
Ah well. Can’t win ’em all, Mrs. Parker! There’s always DVD…
