This must have been so, SO cool!
Last night, Sophie’s Choice co-stars Kevin Kline and Meryl Streep were reunited due to the call of Shakespeare, as they took on the title roles in a one-night-only benefit reading of Romeo + Juliet, in honor of the 50th Anniversary of the opening of the Delacorte Theater in Central Park!
And not only were they accompanied by original music by award-winning composer Jeanine Tesori, they had some support from stars like Christine Baranksi, F. Murray Abraham, Jesse L. Martin, Sandra Oh, Jerry Stiller, and Christopher Walken!
Ch-ch-check out some photos of the cast and crew during their curtain call (above and below)!
Gah!
We are so jealous that we weren’t there to enjoy such a once-in-a-lifetime-opportunity!
But then again, this was one that cost $1,500 a pop! Ha!
