He couldn’t let Justin Timberlake have all the fun in Italy!
While JT and Jessica Biel were getting hitched in Fasano, Italy, *NSYNC ex Chris Kirkpatrick was proposing to his girlfriend, Karly Skladany, in Capri!
Kirkpatrick shared his romantic moment with fans and the press, telling sources:
“We had a hotel room at the Isle of Capri, overlooking the Mediterranean. It was one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been. And it hit me: I wanted to propose to Karly. So I ran to a jewelry store, found the perfect ring and bought it.
We were sitting on the balcony with a bottle of champagne and I put the ring in her glass — I know it sounds cheesy, but it was romantic. As soon as I asked her, she said, ‘It’s about time!’ And we laughed. It was spur of the moment, but it was absolutely perfect.”
The *NSYNC singer says he never planned to go to Justin’s wedding — the fact he was in Italy at the same time was totally coincidental.
It turns out (like Lance Bass and Joey Fatone) Chris was not even invited to see his band mate tie the knot. But it didn’t tear up his heart!
The former dread head says he totally understands why, explaining:
“He didn’t want the wedding to be an *NSYNC reunion, and I totally understand that. I already had plans to be in Italy anyway. It was just a coincidence that I was there when Justin got married. There’s really nothing negative about any of it.”
It certainty turned out for the best!
