Yay! So proud of this girl!
Despite obvious pressures to join the status quo of super skinny female vocalists, Adele isn’t afraid to stay true to herself and her natural curves.
In an interview for the October issue of Vogue, the singing sensation says, “I enjoy being me; I always have done.”
The 23-year-old went on to talk about the negative effects of body image, saying:
“I├óΓé¼Γäóve seen people where it rules their lives, you know, who want to be thinner or have bigger boobs, and how it wears them down. And I just don├óΓé¼Γäót want that in my life.”
We commend Adele for focusing on exactly what singers are supposed to focus on. Her incredible voice is what drove her latest album, 21, to break the solo female artist record for staying at number one for eleven weeks!
Her accomplishments alone should be enough to ward off any negative comments about her weight, but it helps that Adele surrounds herself with positive people, explaining:
“It├óΓé¼Γäós just never been an issue ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ at least, I├óΓé¼Γäóve never hung out with the sort of horrible people who make it an issue. I have insecurities of course, but I don├óΓé¼Γäót hang out with anyone who points them out to me.”
We’re so happy Adele has reached the success she has. Not only does she totally deserve it, but she is an outstanding role model to her fans. Don’t let anyone else decide who you want to be EXCEPT YOU!
