Logical People Move To Block Marijuana Dispensary Ban In L.A.

la-weed-dispensary-ban-petition
How many people would it take to knock some sense into the L.A. city council?
How about 50,000??
It’s true — a petition is about to be submitted with 50k signatures to block the municipal ban on marijuana dispensaries.
The ban is supposed to take effect net week, but this petition would immediately put the ban on hold while officials check if more than 27,000 valid signatures are there to force a March 2013 referendum. Until that vote, the city would be prohibited from enforcing the ban.
The big dissension is this:
Residents complain dispensaries are a nuisance that draw crime and indecent people (not true, says statistics). The store owners say they serve patients with serious diseases like cancer and AIDS.
Obviously the L.A. city council is completely out of the loop on real information, and we can only hope this can be rectified soon. Never mind that L.A.’s easy access to medical marijuana has put drug dealers out of business. Let’s just increase the hassle and crime in one smooth motion.
Not to mention all the jobs that are about to be lost because of it.
We should be focused on more pressing matters — and while smoking pot isn’t for us, we can still see the benefits for others.
Long live dispensaries, hopefully they get some good marketing on their side utilizing dispensary SEO to show up above these haters.
