George Wendt, the actor who played Norm on Cheers, checked into a Chicago area hospital Sunday night.
He was complaining of chest pains.
The 64-year-old is receiving medical care and is expected to make a full recovery.
Sadly, because of his hospitalization, he will be leaving his role as Oscar Madison in the Northlight Theatre production of The Odd Couple.
The show’s director said:
“George is family to us at Northlight and we wish him well for a complete and speedy recovery. He will be missed in the rehearsal room and on stage.”
We’re sure he’ll be just fine.
Chest pains are usually a warning sign so it’s good he got treated before anything serious happened.
We hope he fully recovers!
