Teenage Adele Mistook Record Label Emails For 'Internet Pervs'
At a young age Adele was a total skeptic when it came to trusting anything from the internet.
When she was a teen she got emails from record labels looking to sign her, but totally ignored them cause she thought they were fake!
She explained:

“My friend set up a Myspace page for my music in 2004, but I was 14 or 15 and I wasn’t really interested in it. But it was part of my course at school to learn how to use recording equipment, so I’d record these demos then I’d give them to my friend Lyndon, because I don’t listen to my own music, and he started putting them on there (the internet).
‘He kept saying to me between 2004 and 2006: ‘I think you’ve got an email from someone at Sony.’ But I kept saying, ‘Oh, it’s probably just an internet perv (sic).”

LOL! So Adele didn’t respond to Sony, or any other label that tired to contact her, until she was an adult.

“Then the day after I finished college, when I was 18, he gave me the website password and said: ‘You should go on this now. I don’t think they are internet pervs, I think they are serious.’
“I went on there and had all of these emails from record companies. Then three days later I was in the offices of XL Recordings, who ended up signing me.”

And we are SO grateful she did!
If she hadn’t grown up and took a chance 2011 might have gone without soundtrack!
