One Direction Runs Red Lights While Outrunning Aussie Fans! Officials Investigate, But 1D Rep Says They Had Police Escort!

One Direction must have been listening to a little Miley Cyrus while cruising around in Australia. Because they apparently can’t stop at red lights!

When the 1D boys arrived in Perth this week, they found themselves in hot pursuit by their fans! In order to outrun them, the One Direction entourage sped from the airport to the hotel, ignoring 3 red lights along the way!

Dangerous!

Local police soon found out about this wild ride and are now looking into whether One Direction should be charged with breaking the law!

Western Australia Assistant Commissioner Nick Anticich spoke out about the allegations, saying:

“It’s unacceptable behavior. It breaches the law and we will deal with every person in the same way. By virtue of the fact that they are rock stars is not a license to break any laws or be any different from anyone else. One Direction they may be, but the only direction in relation to this type offending will be to the courts!”

ZOMG!

We doubt Harry, Liam, Louis, Niall or Zayn were the ones behind the wheels of the Mercedes vans that were whizzing them through town. But still, the boys should know better than to drive like that!

Tisk, tisk, 1D!

UPDATE: One Direction’s rep issued this statement in response…

“The primary focus of the security team is always fan safety.

Despite earlier reports that the band’s convoy of 3 Mercedes vans had ignored sets of red traffic lights on Great Eastern Highway while en route to the hotel, it was actually a five-car convoy of Hyundai vans, the convoy stopped so that One Direction├óΓé¼Γäós security team could ask fans to obey road rules after becoming concerned about their dangerous driving which ended in two fans running red lights.

I can confirm that they did indeed pull over at a petrol station, where upon they spoke to the fans explaining concerns about their safety and dangerous driving.

The band’s head driver, five-strong security team and tour manager all reiterated the same thing – fans were driving erratically as the band tried to get from Perth airport to their hotel.

the only time they have gone through red lights is under a police escort and this was done in Adelaide.”
