Uh oh! Looks like Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s latest trip Down Under may not have gone quite as smoothly as they hoped!
According to fresh reports making the rounds, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were allegedly given the cold shoulder by none other than Robert Irwin and his famous conservationist family. And yes, the reason being whispered about is just as juicy as you’d expect!

Sources claimed to Radar Online on Monday that the Sussexes were supposedly eager to link up with the brood of late icon Steve Irwin during the now-former royals’ recent whirlwind visit to Australia. To hear insiders tell it, Megs and Harry were supposedly hoping to spend some quality time at the iconic Australia Zoo. But despite what could have been a perfect PR moment, the meeting reportedly never happened. Why? Insiders claimed it all came down to royal loyalty! (Say that five times fast… LOLz!)
The Irwin family, who have long-standing ties to the British monarchy, are said to be firmly aligned with Prince William and the traditional royal fold, according to the Radar Online report. Plus, with Robert serving as an ambassador for William’s Earthshot Prize and having supported royal initiatives in the past, it sounds like he wasn’t about to risk any awkward optics by cozying up to the Sussexes.
About that, one insider dished:
“Aligning with the Irwins’ worthy causes is something that Meghan and Harry could be on board with.”
However, since Robert was particularly close to Wills as we noted, he didn’t want to upset the Prince of Wales by appearing to side with Meghan. And so, a meeting never took place. Which, yikes! Talk about picking sides!
And if that wasn’t blunt enough, another source didn’t even bother sugarcoating things, saying:
“It just wasn’t possible.”
Uh-huh… Sure…
By the way, as if that alleged snub wasn’t enough drama for one trip, Meghan is also reportedly dealing with backlash from a separate appearance that apparently left fans seriously unimpressed.

You see, the duchess also attended a luxe wellness retreat in Sydney during the trip. There, guests paid big bucks expecting an immersive experience. Instead, some claimed she barely stuck around for any of it! Oops!
One insider spilled:
“Front desk complaints already coming in… People paid thousands for a girls’ weekend with Meghan, not a short two-hour appearance. This is misleading marketing.”
OOF!!!
And the frustration didn’t stop there. Another said:
“Organizers owe answers and I know some girls are asking for refunds.”
Even more shocking, another attendee reportedly fumed:
“A friend of mine is absolutely furious… she paid all that money and was promised a whole weekend full of fun, food, drinks, and activities — only to find out Meghan stayed 30 minutes.”
Thirty minutes?! That’s barely enough time to sip a smoothie and snap a selfie!
Between alleged zoo snubs and unhappy retreat-goers, that trip sure seems like it shaped up to be anything but a triumphant return to Australia for Meghan and Harry. So, whether these claims hold water or not, one thing’s for sure: we’re popping more popcorn! LOLz!
