Even though we were so scared to watch this lady choose jail over rehab – it seems to have worked out for her!
Teen Mom Amber Portwood has been released from prison about four years earlier than we thought she would!
The reason? Good behavior!!!
Amber should be released from Indiana’s Rockville Correctional Facility on November 6th, and her brother Shawn says not only is she getting released, but the mom has gotten her G.E.D. AND has completed drug rehab!
Here’s what he said:
“She’s really grown and matured — she completed her drug rehab [in prison], she got her G.E.D., she completed parenting classes and she became the administrator of the CLIFF program, which helps inmates get sober. She did so well in cleaning herself up, that she spent most of her jail time helping other girls get clean. She’s grown up far more than I thought she would. When I talk to her, she’s changed.”
We are thrilled with Amber who was definitely on a rough path before she went to prison.
We honestly thought she was crazy to choose prison over rehab, but we guess she made the RIGHT decision!
Here’s to you, Amber! We can’t wait for you to see your daughter Leah again!
