Well here’s some AH-Mazing news that You Oughta Know!
Alanis Morissette is turning her ’90s hit album Jagged Little Pill into a Broadway musical!
OMG! Front row seats please!!!
Ms. Morissette will be working with veteran composer Tom Kitt, who helped adapt Green Day’s blockbuster American Idiot into a stage show, to turn all of the tracks of JLP into what we hope will be a smash hit! A workshop of the production is already planned for 2014!
But wait, it gets better — Alanis might be starring in the show herself!!!
She admitted to always wanting to take center stage and this might be her big shot! She explained though that she won’t decide if she’ll play the lead role just yet, saying:
“I don’t know whether it would be me starting in the role or coming in at some point, but I’m totally open to the possibility of that. I think once [the book] is written, it will become more obvious whether I was born to originate the role.├óΓé¼┬¥
Um, HELL YES you were born to originate the role!
The show’s story will be inspired by Alanis’ own personal experiences. The narrative will include a woman in a relationship where the other person has more power.
Oooo! Is this going to be about Ryan Reynolds? Or maybe Uncle Joey?!
OK, we are BEYOND excited for this! Expect to see us there on opening night with one hand in our pockets and the other one drinking a glass of chardonnay with a black fly in it!
