JK! We’re sure everything was proportionally correct at Ben Stiller‘s hand and footprint ceremony outside of The Chinese Theater!
And who was there to sing his praises? Les Grossman Tom Cruise!
We hope someone called a plumber because when Tom started talking about Ben he could not stop gushing:
“He’s a cinephile, like I am. He loves movies, we talk about movies, he honors films, and here he is├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥you know Reality Bites is the first film that he directed. And I always knew that he wanted to direct from early on and you see all the range of films that he’s directed├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥Reality Bites, Cable Guy and another classic, Zoolander├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥absolute classic.”
Meanwhile, Ben described this whole event as a fantasy (not unlike Legend) come true:
“This is like a weird, surreal dream. I’m here at the Chinese Theatre, I’m getting my handprints in the cement, Tom Cruise is there, Michael Jordan comes out, does a slam dunk over a Lamborghini, The Beastie Boys dedicate a song to me and Cheryl Ladd pops out of a cake. That’s usually how the dream ends for me.”
Oh, we’re pretty sure we’ve all dreamed a dream of Cheryl Ladd popping out of a cake gone by.
Congrats, Ben! You’ve truly left a lasting imprint on the film industry, and all of comedy! We’ve got to hand (and footprint) it to ya!
