Talk about a smartphone user who wasn’t! Yikes!
Earlier this week, a tourist walked off the edge of an Australian pier and fell into the ocean, but you’ll never guess how it happened!
The Taiwanese woman, who was in her 20s, was checking out St Kilda’s Pier in Melbourne and, by checking it out, we mean she was just playing around on her phone! The lady was apparently so engrossed in her Facebook app that she forgot to look up when she reached the edge of the pier!
Ruh roh! Thankfully, she wasn’t injured!
A local cop explained:
”She wasn’t splashing around too much. She wasn’t in a panic even though she was in the water for probably 20 minutes. She wasn’t a good swimmer but she was floating OK … on her back… She had a mobile phone in one of her hands and when we brought her onboard one of the first things she did was apologize and say sorry.”
We’re honestly at a loss for words with this one! The unnamed lady must’ve been crafting a really intense status update!
Current mood? Soaking wet!
