The MTV Movie Awards are coming up on Sunday and we know fans will be excited to see who will win “Best Shirtless Performance” and “Best Kiss”, but it won├óΓé¼Γäót all be light-hearted.
Considering the fact that Paul Walker had been a staple at the awards show, even presenting at the show with his co-stars just last year, because of his role in The Fast and the Furious franchise, the show will also be featuring a tribute to honor the great actor.
MTV president Stephen Friedman shared:
“Paul Walker was a role model for the MTV audience since the very beginning of his too-short career. Our audience grew up with him, from Varsity Blues to the Furious franchise. He was a movie star that they could relate to. Paul├óΓé¼Γäós humanity and kindness clearly showed through every role. We├óΓé¼Γäóre honored to be able to spend a moment in this year├óΓé¼Γäós Movie Awards to celebrate him.”
Co-star Jordana Brewster will introduce his tribute at the show, though we can only imagine how hard it will be for her, as she played Paul├óΓé¼Γäós on-screen wife in the franchise. And separate from the tribute, Paul and Vin Diesel are also nominated for “Best On-Screen Duo”.
But if you’re hoping to see a clip from Fast & Furious 7, you won’t see one. The show is focusing on the tribute being more solemn rather than in any way promotional.
We can only hope the MTV Movie Awards do him justice!
