Oh no. So sad.
DJ Rashad was found dead in Chicago’s south side on Saturday afternoon, just two days before the release of his new EP We On 1.
Rashad Harden was a pioneer of house music and was known particularly for his work in the distinctive Chicago style known as footwork.
He worked with and inspired many in the hip hop world, including Chance The Rapper, who tweeted:
Music lost a legend today. And he was my friend. Love you DJ Rashad. RIP

Police sources report there were drugs and dug paraphernalia next to Rashad’s body, leading them to believe that he died of a drug overdose, though the autopsy was inconclusive.
Rashad was only 34 years old.
