Aspiring actor/philanthropist Michael Trigg is suing The Weinstein Co. after donating $100,000 to receive a bit part in Scary Movie 5, as well as a one-on-one sit down with Harvey Weinstein himself.
The donation, through the online auction site Charitybuzz.com, was intended to give the highest bidder a small speaking role in the horror-parody that stared Charlie Sheen and Lindsay Lohan. However, Michael├óΓé¼Γäós ‘bit part’ ended up being only one word long.
When Michael tried to tell The Weinstein Co. that he was promised more screen time, he was told that he was not entitled to dialogue, and that he might not be in the final cut of the sequel at all.
Upon agreeing to a $40,000 refund if his scenes were cut, Michael was then offered a larger role in a different movie, one without LiLo, called Demonic. But, when he arrived on set, Michael was only given two words; a huge upgrade from the one he had before.
Michael says that not only was he embarrassed by the whole situation, he also believes that a breach of contract and negligent misrepresentation were involved.
In the end, Michael was just another person let down by the Scary Movie franchise, only this time, it happened behind the scenes.
