Holy cow, how did he think nobody would notice this?!?
Clint Eastwood‘s American Sniper may be nominated for Best Picture for this year’s Oscars but it won’t win any awards in the ‘convincing baby’ department!
Seriously, Bradley Cooper‘s Best Actor nomination this year must have been because he pretended that the ‘straight from Toys R’ Us’ baby he was holding was a real one.
We kid, we kid, but seriously! Look at that thing!

Critics and moviegoers alike have been commenting on the obviously not real baby and how ridiculous it seems in such a serious film!
However, there seems to be a reason for the doll, at least according to the screenwriter/executive producer of American Sniper Jason Hall who responded to a tweet about the now infamous gaffe.
He said:
@MarkHarrisNYC hate to ruin the fun but real baby #1 showed up with a fever. Real baby #2 was no show. (Clint voice) Gimme the doll, kid.

Well, that explains the reason why, but it still isn’t an excuse for using that fake baby!
Couldn’t they have gotten a specialized prop company to make a more life-like looking doll?!? COME ON!
