Anne Meara, wife of Jerry Stiller and mother of Ben Stiller and Amy Stiller, passed away this past weekend. Though her son and husband are famous in their own right, Meara had quite the accomplished career too! Along with her husband, she performed as part of Stiller & Meara on The Ed Sullivan Show among many other programs in the ’60s.

She’s also remembered for being a part of shows like All My Children, Alf, and Sex and the City. So it’s no surprise that the Stiller family has received a lot of support in the wake her passing.
Early Monday morning, Ben wanted to take a moment to acknowledge this support and break his silence regarding his mother by tweeting:
Thank you so much for all the kind words about Anne. All of us in our family feel so lucky to have had her in our lives.

With such a great loss in his life, he definitely didn’t need to address anyone, but being the class act he is, Ben is always willing to acknowledge kindness. Anne will be greatly missed and we wish the Stiller family the best in this trying time!
