Our hearts break for Iman.
Not even three months since the tragic passing of her husband David Bowie, the supermodel’s mother Marian Abdulmajid has passed away.
The 60-year-old beauty announced the sad news using her mom’s Somalian moniker on social media Friday morning, asking for privacy as they grieve this tragic loss:

As you know, Iman has kept a relatively low profile since the death of her beloved husband after a battle with cancer.
In 2014, she spoke with The Guardian about how proud she was of her parents’ involvement in the Somali independence movement — and how her mother always inspired to go after her dreams
“My mother was an activist, so was my father. They came from a generation of young Somalis who were actively involved in getting independence for Somalia in 1960. So I remember when I was 5 how busy our house was. People would come in the middle of the night, meetings after meetings, and protests and all that. I grew up in the midst of all of that. And she instilled that in me. The fact that nobody can take your self-worth unless you give your consent. She always said to me that there is nothing that the boys can do ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ because I had two brothers ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ that you can’t do, if not better.”
