Jennifer Hudson is getting real about her role on Broadway!
On Tuesday, a fan took to Twitter to express outrage over the fact that the soulful singer was not nominated for a Tony Award for her performance in The Color Purple.

The JHud supporter wrote:
Ultimate snub of @IAMJHUD for the #TonyAwards. Her performance was great for it being her first time in Broadway

However, the 34-year-old responded to straight-up say that the only reason she was cast in the first place was because of her celeb status!
Ch-ch-check out her post (below)!

While we love Miz Hudson’s blunt honesty, we think the gorgeous gal should give herself some more credit! After all, she’s got some pretty powerful pipes, and has taken home a freakin’ Oscar for her performance in a musical film!
TBH we’re still not over the fact that she came in 7th on her season of American Idol.
But it looks like maybe the musician had a change of heart, because she’s since deleted her declaration. However, she also thanked the fan, and did leave that tweet up:
@CrushedSounds thank u anyway

It’s also important to note that The Color Purple was nominated for Best Revival of a Musical, and that the powerful performer congratulated her director and costars who were recognized, posting on Instagram:
Very proud and overwhelmed to say congrats to @cynthiaerivo @daniebb3 @color purple entire cast on tony nod ! One hell of a cast that’s for sure ! Proud of u all!A photo posted by Jennifer Hudson (@iamjhud) on May 3, 2016 at 9:26am PDT
