Larry David Thinks Hamilton's Success Has Been Propelled By White People Trying To Be 'Hip'! See What He Said!

As usual, his enthusiasm is curbed.
Lin-Manuel Miranda‘s smash hit Hamilton is undoubtedly the biggest sensation on Broadway these days — setting a record number of Tony Awards nominations and even winning a Pulitzer prize!
But according to Larry David, the musical’s success is less due to its accolades and more because of white people trying to be “hip.”

On Tuesday’s episode of the Mike Lucpica Show, the Curb Your Enthusiasm star admitted the hip-hop history show was “incredible” — but has a particular “theory on a lot of the people that are seeing it.”
He explained:

“I have a feeling there are a lot of white people who are saying they are completely blown away even though they didn’t really understand half of the things the people on stage were saying. They just want to solidify their liberal bonafides and how cool they are: ├óΓé¼╦£Yeah, I love Hamilton. Yeah, I get it, I’m hip.'”

While we appreciate his Seinfeld-esque rant, he really needs Jerry there to tell him, “You’re nuts!”
After all, he says himself the show is great! Why can’t it just be successful because it’s so great??
Either way, we have a feeling Hamilton will go down in history as one of Broadway’s biggest hits.
Do YOU agree with David’s theory?
