Dance Moms' Abby Lee Miller Reveals Her Plans For Prison, Teases TV Comeback, & Admits There Are 'Mistakes' She Must Pay For!

abby lee miller talks prison sentence
Abby Lee Miller isn’t letting her prison sentence stand in the way of her work.
As we previously reported, the Dance Moms vet was sentenced to one year and one day in prison on Tuesday for bankruptcy fraud and for sneaking in $120,000 in foreign currency into the country. Eek.

Still, Miz Miller is refusing to let this sentence hinder her career as she’s already planning her return to TV. While chatting with E! News, the controversial dance instructor explained:

“Someone’s already called me to be there to start saying shoot. We’re ready with cameras. We’re ready to go. I think I’ll be ready to go. If worse comes to worse, I’m a good teacher. I’m good at what I do. I have an eye for detail. I can take a beginner kid that has never danced in their lives and I can teach them something or I can take a really advanced dancer and I can make them into a professional.”

And while the 50-year-old is planning on making a grand return to the small screen, it won’t be for reality TV. According to Maddie Ziegler‘s former teacher, her new show will be a scripted project involving teen dancers. So… it’s pretty much a dramatized version of Dance Moms??
Although it may seem impossible for Abby to conduct business behind bars, the Lifetime celeb hopes to serve time in California so her business partners can visit. She noted:

“I have a new show and other things happening and if people are going to come visit me├óΓé¼┬ªat least they can come there. Maybe I’m fooling myself and I won’t be able to do any work. I have some stuff to crank out. Do I need 24 hours a day to put lotion on my elbows? I was never selfish. I was never focused on me, me, me all the time. I was always focused on somebody else.”

Hmmm, we’re sure some of her students would refute that comment. Nonetheless, we’re glad Abby still has business to turn to as the court has slapped her with a $40,000 fine and a $120,000 money judgment. Oof.
And it appears as though the recent ruling has forced the choreographer to finally take some responsibility for her behavior. The TV personality acknowledged while fighting back tears:

“It is surreal. How does a nice Catholic girl end up going to prison for a year? It’s crazy. I’ve made mistakes. I have to pay for those mistakes. I feel like the whole case could have been handled differently.”

Here’s hoping Abby’s prison experience will change her for the better…
