Adam Sandler misses his friends.
The comedian took the stage during Saturday Night Live’s 50th anniversary special on Sunday to perform a song celebrating the iconic show’s legacy… And he gave a special shoutout to two fallen friends, the late Chris Farley and Norm Macdonald.
As he gently strummed a guitar while walking viewers down SNL lane, he sang about how many years certain cast and crew members have been a part of the production. And when he got to Chris and Norm’s names, he couldn’t help but become overwhelmed with emotion. He sang through a lump in the back of his throat:
“Six years of our boy Farley, five of our buddy Norm”
Awww.
Norm passed away in 2021. He was a fan favorite cast member from 1993 to 1998. Chris was on SNL from 1990 to 1995 — the same years Adam was a cast member. The two were great pals that whole time and beyond. Sadly not too long beyond though… Farley died in 1997.
