Adam Sandler to replace Mark Wahlberg in football comedy
And we hope that “may” changes into a DEFINITELY very soon!
Mark Wahlberg has decided to opt out of the Will Ferrell football comedy called Three Mississippi, but the studio may have hopefully found a better replacement — Adam Sandler!
The comedy superstar is in talks to take over the role of Alec Baldwin‘s son who is tasked with defeating Ferrell’s family in an annual tackle football game that takes place every Thanksgiving.
Adam McKay wrote the script with Ferrell and was set to direct, but Anchorman 2 took priority so the project has been handed over to director Sean Anders. Coincidentally enough, he just directed Sandler in That’s My Boy, so we’re crossing our fingers that he’ll be on board to star.
This is not only exciting because we love the concept od the comedy, but we’re pretty sure that this would be the first time Ferrell and Sandler headlined a major movie together (please, correct us if we’re wrong).
Even more exciting is the simple fact that Sandler isn’t playing a female version of himself either!
Let’s just all do ourselves a favor and forget Jack and Jill ever happened so we can continue to appreciate Adam Sandler’s career.
