It’s called acting Tom.
Adam Sandler visited David Letterman to promote his new movie Jack and Jill. Katie Holmes co-stars in the film as Adam’s wife, a fact that her husband, Tom Cruise, didn’t seem to understand.
According to Sandler, Cruise said:
“This is weird that my wife is going to be your wife in the movie, it’s very weird, it’s bizarre.”
Really Tom? You’ve been in countless films and you weren’t actually married to the women that played your wives (except for that one time).
Of course Adam has a cleaver response or Tom’s craziness. He told Letterman,
“It’s a PG movie, no worries, nothing is going to happen. In fact, anything I do with your wife in the movie, you can do with my wife. So every morning I’d go to the set and hear, ‘Please do a love scene. Please slowly take your shirt off in that scene and rub her ever so tenderly.'”
