Can’t blame her! She’s just become TOO popular for smaller venues!
Adele received mixed reviews from some loyal fans when she announced that she’d start playing arenas, even though she previously told fans she wouldn’t be playing those venues.
Here’s what she had to say about it:
“Too many people want to see my shows. This is the last time you’ll catch me at a venue like this. These will be my last theatre dates as I’m moving on to arenas. I’ll be at the O2 [arena] in February.”
And here’s what Adele had said about not playing arenas back in May:
“We had three nights on hold at the O2. I was like: ‘I won’t play a festival. You think I’m gonna play a f***ng arena? Are you out of your mind?’ I’d rather play 12 years at the Barfly than one night at the O2! The thought of an audience that big frightens the life out of me. I don’t think the music would work either. It’s all too slow.”
We can certainly understand why fans would be initially disappointed, but we know that her devoted followers will inevitably support her as she VERY quickly continues to grow and gain popularity as an artist!
