If you missed the big news, Adele and her husband Simon Konecki have separated, per a statement from her representatives on Friday.
Sources shared on Monday that despite any differences in their marriage, the one thing that will always keep them on good terms is their son, Angelo.

An insider divulged to People:
“Adele’s son is everything to her. Her whole life revolves around him. I just can’t see her divorce getting messy because she’s so careful when it comes to her son. She’s always five steps ahead in terms of how a decision will affect him.”
The momma welcomed her son with Simon in 2012 after they began dating in the summer of 2011. Her representatives Benny Tarantini and Carl Fysh said in a statement to the Associated Press:
“Adele and her partner have separated. They are committed to raising their son together lovingly. As always they ask for privacy. There will be no further comment.”
The Hello singer has been notoriously private when it comes to her personal life, so it’s no surprise that a second source shared with People that she is “unrecognizable” when living her day to day life, in an attempt to give her son the most “normal childhood” possible:
“She takes him to the park or on a hike and to birthday parties for his friends. It’s clear that she tries to create a happy and normal childhood for Angelo.”

Another confidant close to the 15-time Grammy Award winner surmised the reasoning behind the breakup:
“They had a lot in common early on, but eventually they just grew apart. She became a bigger and bigger star, and he was okay [with] being in the background, but as she got bigger and had massive tours and intense schedules, they just grew apart.”
Fame can definitely be tricky to navigate, especially if you’re trying to maintain privacy for your family!!
They also revealed that the two plan to “keep this amicable” since “they have Angelo together,” meaning “it’s highly unlikely this is going to get ugly.”
While Konecki was often out of the public eye, he was supportive of his wife at musical events and award ceremonies:
“Their marriage was clearly working for a very long time. Whenever she was out at big openings and special events, he was usually with her, and they looked really just happy together and in love. They were into the marriage pretty much until they decided this just isn’t working anymore.”
Truly a sad situation all around!! We’re hoping she’s doing the best she can given the split.
