Could this be the real reason why Alex Cooper and Alix Earle went from friends to enemies? Has Alix been trying to come for Daddy Cooper’s crown all this time?
In case you missed it, Variety reported last week that Alex’s company, Unwell Network, dropped the 24-year-old social media personality’s Hot Mess podcast. Alix was apparently blindsided — though the news did not necessarily shock all the listeners. You see, fans had been picking up on tension between the two hosts over the past few months. Alix and Alex had been close since the TikToker joined the Unwell Network at its launch in August 2023. However, things appeared particularly… well, unwell… between the two women recently as the network no longer promoted the Hot Mess podcast as much on social media. Alix didn’t even show up to Unwell’s party for the Super Bowl in February — even though she was in New Orleans!

Alix’s dad, Thomas “TJ” Earle, also hinted at having to deal with “a business situation” he “wasn’t happy” about, which many assume was about Cooper! And guess what? They were right!
Us Weekly confirmed there was “a lot of drama between” Alix and Alex as they “clashed over business,” and it ultimately ruined their friendship! Yikes! It also didn’t help that TJ reportedly “got more involved in her business decisions” and was not a fan of how Unwell operated, believing his daughter signing onto the network wasn’t a “smart business move.”
This is so messy!!!
But is there more to the story behind their falling out? Some fans speculated Alix was unhappy with doing a weekly podcast and already wanted to jump ship entirely! As in, quit podcasting. However, that may not be quite right! See, it actually looks like she’s expanding her brand and working to start a new show! And she began working on it MONTHS ago… while she was still with Unwell!
According to The US Sun on Tuesday, Alix’s business, AAE Holding Company, Inc., filed trademarks for the names “Earle Girls” and “Gearles” back in November 2024. It sounds like these were possible names for a new show! The trademarks would “provide podcasts featuring discussions of collegiate life, post-collegiate life and young adulthood, relationship, lifestyle, entertainment, travel, fitness, and health and wellness issues.” And there’s more! The outlet continued:
“Providing online non-downloadable audio and audiovisual content featuring discussions of collegiate life, post-collegiate life and young adulthood, relationship, lifestyle, entertainment, travel, fitness, and health and wellness issues; entertainment services.”
The trademarks also cover “clothing, footgear, and headgear” — so it sounds like future merch! Both trademarks are pending right now. Does this mean she’s giving up on the podcast name Hot Mess and rebranding to Earle Girls or Gearles? Alix’s sister, Ashtin Earle, became a co-host of the podcast during the second season in September, so it would make sense if they changed the name to reflect that. (Though Gearles is terrible! Got a real Oneders feel!)
Or is the Earle Girls/Gearles something completely new? If it is, that would mean Alix would now have multiple podcasts! It’s almost the start of a podcast empire… just like Alex Cooper. We don’t have answers yet! But either way, this is huge!
As we said, she hadn’t been dropped by Unwell yet when she requested these trademarks. So we have to wonder: Was this done behind Alex’s back? That would be bad enough! Certainly a move that could cause a falling out if Alex found out a while ago! But what if Alix wants to launch her own network one day? If things were rocky between them before, having competing businesses certainly wouldn’t help matters!
In addition, The Sun reported that Alix has two other pending trademarks for her name, which she filed that same month. One covers “retail store services for cosmetics, skin care products, hair care products, perfume, clothing and footwear, jewelry, alcoholic beverages,” as well as medicated skincare products, headgear, and beer specifically.
For those who don’t know, Alix already shared in a video on TikTok back in February that she invested in an alcohol company that is “launching soon” but did not reveal the name of it. Take a look (below):
@alixearle See you in march ????????????????????????????????????????????♀️
Did she invest in a beer company given the trademarks? Hmm. The second trademark includes:
“Retail store services for nutritional supplements, eyewear, electronic games, watches, bags, umbrellas, leather goods, cosmetic tools, housewares, dishes, cups, coffee, tea and energy drinks. Ecommerce services; sponsorship services; influencer services; influencer marketing services; promoting the goods and services of others through influencers.”
It looks like Alix has a lot of plans for the future — ones which her old pal Alex won’t be involved in!
