Aly Raisman Sues U.S. Olympic Committee & USA Gymnastics Over Knowledge Of Larry Nassar Abuse

Aly Raisman
Aly Raisman
is not backing down.
As you know, the Olympian powerfully testified in court against Larry Nassar, who molested and sexually assaulted hundreds of young girls during his tenure as a renowned team doctor.
Now, the 23-year-old is suing the U.S. Olympic Committee and USA Gymnastics, claiming both organizations “knew or should have known” about abusive patterns by Nassar.

In the lawsuit, which was filed in California on Wednesday, Aly accuses both organizations of negligence for failing to make sure proper protocol was followed to keep the athletes safe. Raisman also says the USOC and USA Gymnastics enabled Nassar to continue abusing athletes by not telling Michigan State about the misconduct that led them to fire him (he worked for the university for over a year after he lost his job as an Olympic team doctor).
The powerful athlete says:

“It has become painfully clear that these organizations have no intention of properly addressing this problem. [I hope the lawsuit will] enable the change that is so desperately needed.”

We hope so, too! Taking the situation into her own hands!
