Amanda Kloots continues to honor the memory of her late husband, Nick Cordero

Throughout Cordero’s long battle with coronavirus, Kloots lead a daily 3 p.m. singalong of the 41-year-old Broadway star’s original song, “Live Your Life.” On Monday, one day after announcing his passing, she logged on to thank fans and share one final rendition of the anthem.

Through tears, the fitness instructor shared:

“Thank you so much for the past 95 days singing with me. We played this song a lot in Nick’s room with him and we were singing to him. I kept telling him that he had the whole world singing his song, knowing who he was and what kind of an amazing person he was.”

The former Rockette admitted there were days she didn’t feel she could put on a brave face and sing, but said “I always felt better after I did.” She said the videos of fans and wellwishers singing along were a blessing and that she got to share them with Nick before he passed. She explained:

“I just wanted him to know that his dream of becoming a rock star happened … Sometimes your dreams happen and you don’t fully get to embrace them, but Nick’s dream of becoming a rock star definitely happened and it’s because of you guys and your support.”

Despite the heartbreak she is no doubt experiencing, Kloots still took the opportunity to share a positive message with fans — something which has become her trademark throughout this tragic battle. She said:

“I was singing this song to Nick yesterday in his room and so many of the lyrics are so, just, crazy on point. ‘They’ll give you hell but don’t let them kill your light, not without a fight. Live your life.’ … Life throws so many things at you. … It could be this awful virus like Nick had, you could lose your job, you could fight with a family member … all these things in your life that could give you hell. … Keep fighting, keep singing, keep dancing, keep living.”

She concluded the livestream with these final words:

“Thank you so much for all your support. I really, really, really appreciate it. Nick left this earth with people around him that he loved, listening to music. I don’t think he would have wanted anything else, so I think we gave him a good send-off. I’ll miss him every day of my life, that’s for sure.”

This is such a heartbreaking loss. We will continue to keep Amanda and baby Elvis in our thoughts.
