Another Brangelina kid is making legal moves to drop Brad Pitt’s last name.
On Tuesday, news broke that Vivienne Jolie-Pitt is working to legally remove Pitt from her name! According to People, the 18-year-old has filed paperwork in Los Angeles Superior Court requesting to go from Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt to Vivienne Marcheline Jolie.
Vivienne’s middle name, of course, is a tribute to Angelina’s late mother Marcheline Bertrand, who died in 2007 after a battle with breast and ovarian cancer.
According to the court docs seen by People, Vivienne listed the reason as “personal.” The outlet reported that the youngest Brangelina girl’s petition has been scheduled to go to court on November 2.

Wow… With Vivienne’s filings, FOUR of six Brangelina babies have now officially made the legal move. Shiloh led the charge in 2024 when she filed soon after turning 18. In May of this year, Maddox, 24, followed suit, and close behind him was Zahara, 21. That leaves only Pax, 22, and Knox, Vivienne’s twin brother, legally hanging onto Pitt. Though in June, a source told Page Six 18-year-old Knox only used his mother’s last name while graduating from Fusion Academy.
Yeesh!
Following Vivienne’s filing, a source told Page Six:
“This is what complete and total parental alienation looks like — it’s awful, deliberate and unnecessary, only serving the interest of the parent feeling some perverse pleasure at excluding another caring parent from her children’s lives.”
Shots fired! A separate source previously told the outlet:
“If Brad isn’t close to the kids, it’s because of the harm that was done. The children are now adults and make their own decisions, which deserve respect. If they choose to distance themselves from him, it comes from that pain and harm.”
Brad and Angelina finally settled their 8-year-long divorce on December 30, 2024 after their 2016 airplane incident and long-winded feud over shared winery Château Miraval.
Vivienne’s filing comes after she first dropped her father’s last name informally in 2024, when she was credited solely as Vivienne Jolie in the playbill for Broadway’s The Outsiders. It just seems that now after turning 18 on July 12, she’s looking to make the change permanent.
