It was revealed on Monday that Maleficent is in the early stages of getting a sequel with Linda Woolverton returning as writer.

Angelina hasn’t signed anything guaranteeing the follow up, but we hear Disney is keeping her involved in the process, and that Maleficent 2 is being written with her in mind.
Are we gonna get a whole franchise out of this?!
The Sleeping Beauty reimagination made over $750 Million when it was in theaters, and wound up as the fourth highest-grossing film of the year, so it’s not too surprising that the House of Mouse wants to go back to messing with Aurora.
