In the wake of the McKinsey consultations and projected 25% budget cut over at Condé Nast, four publications are closing shop: Cookie, Elegant Bride, Modern Bride, and sadly, Gourmet, resulting in the loss of 180 jobs at the magazine publisher.
Now, fashion editors at Condé Nasty publications are scrambling to get their budgets in, and this time, Anna Wintour gets no special treatment.
While Vogue is not among the publications folding, the editrix reportedly left Paris Fashion Week days earlier than expected in order to deal with the tightening of the reins. And Vogue staffers, beware: Wintour’s cuts are expected to include lightening the payroll, which means job losses which could be effective as soon as Friday.
Yikes!
Times are tough, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed that the damage isn’t too bad!
