This is bad on so many levels.
Indiana’s anti-gay republican state Rep. Phillip Hinkle has gotten into some serious trouble after responding to an ad on Craigslist.
Despite his “anti-gay” views, Hinkle emailed a young man whom he found on the m4m area in the casual encounters section who wrote “I need a sugga daddy.” Hinkle proceeded to offer $80 for a night at the JW Marriott hotel. He also offered a tip of $50 to $60 “for a really good time.”
Maybe if he offered more money, the young man, whose name is Kameryn Gibson, would have been more cooperative, but once he recognized Hinkle while in the hotel room, he backed down. Unfortunately, the state rep wouldn’t take no for an answer, and he reportedly told Gibson that he couldn’t leave, and then “grabbed him in the rear.” Awful!
After Kameryn’s sister Megan arrived at the hotel and confronted Hinkle, he gave the two an iPad, a BlackBerry, and $100 to keep quiet.
Clearly that wasn’t the smartest idea, because Hinkle’s address book was in the BlackBerry, and the Gibson siblings, of course, made some phone calls.
Here’s a statement that Hinkle’s attorney Peter Nugent has released regarding the scandal:
“Representative Hinkle is aware of the inquiries by The Indianapolis Star and we are investigating the matter at this time. We request that everyone respect the privacy of the family at this time.”
Wow. Reminds us of the Anthony Weiner days…only worse!
