Ariana Grande Accused Of Cultural Appropriation AGAIN After Tour Mood Board Leaks!

Ariana Grande Rihanna Concert Dream Board

You’d think after one bad time in the spotlight, people would learn! Apparently not Ariana Grande!

The singer is in piping hot water yet again after being accused of cultural appropriation following the leak of her Sweetener tour mood board.

See, it’s apparently all women of color Ari plans to *ahem* get inspired by when it comes to looks for her tour.

The @diet_prada post which broke the story not only calls out Miz Grande’s “appropriation of black aesthetics,” and copying Rihanna and Ciara‘s outfits, but Versace for allegedly duplicating designer Yeha Leung‘s bondage-inspired looks for Ari’s tour outfits.

Ch-ch-check out all the leaked images (below):

While many IG commenters seem to be on board with the copying accusation, not all can totally make the link to complete appropriation:

“There is clearly a copy-cat problem here! But it’s not cultural appropriation, is nothing to do with race or cultural! It’s more artistic appropriation and unfortunately[sic] everyone does that in pop these days!”

“since when is drawing inspiration from a fashion icon like Rihanna considered cultural appropriation?”

“def not cultural appropriation she just copied some of the outfits.”

Miz Grande has already had quite the week, and this new tea spillage is only adding to her existing issues!

As we previously reported, the needy songstress recently sued Forever 21, accusing the fashion retailer of stealing her 7 Rings likeness for a social media campaign. In the $10 million lawsuit, Ari claims the brand launched an “unauthorized marketing campaign” using her music video for inspo.

The lawsuit alleged Grande and the store were planning on working together, but the deal fell through because F21 didn’t want “to pay the fair market value for a celebrity of Ms. Grande’s stature.” Probably because they just filed for bankruptcy recently, LOLz! And instead of paying Ari to use her likeness, her team alleges they “simply stole it by launching a misleading campaign across its website and social media platforms.”

Not long after all of that drama began to unfold, Ari got a taste of her own allegations when RuPaul’s Drag Race alum Farrah Moan made public claims one of the looks being sued over was actually stolen from her first!

Plus, just a few months ago the pop star went CRAZY on Twitter in response to critics accusing her of cultural appropriation for her use of Japanese Kanji letters on her merchandise, in her 7 Rings music video, and (incorrectly) on her skin in a new tattoo.

Let’s also not forget she’s been accused of over-tanning her skin and purposely putting on a “blaccent” in an effort to appeal to a broader demographic. (Which is something people really do!)

Ari’s not typically one to stay quiet in light of these types of accusations… so we’ll just wait and see what she has to say!
