Ariana Grande is planning on playing things a LOT closer to the vest from this point forward!
She’s not locking down her social media accounts or anything, but the 7 Rings singer has pledged to be more selective with what she shares with the world. It remains to be seen how that’ll go over time, of course, but so far, so good.
Thankfully she has some very powerful motivation!

The whole thing came about for Ariana in direct response to a since-expired Instagram Story first posted by Florence Pugh earlier this week. The 24-year-old Little Women star was speaking out at the time against some hateful comments she’d received on the social media network regarding her relationship with 45-year-old actor Zach Braff.
Something about Pugh’s comments must have seriously resonated with Ariana, because the thank u, next singer immediately took to her own IG account and posted this pic (below) highlighting the Oscar nominee’s leadership on the issue:
Well then!
As you can see in that pic, which has a screenshot of Pugh’s original post in it as well, the Bang Bang artist explained to the world (below):
“Sharing special, personal life things that make u happy on the internet can be truly traumatic. I know I’ve taken a step back from doing so to protect my loved ones and myself but I just wanted to share this and let u know how perfectly u expressed this and how appreciated u are for doing so … I do not need you to tell me who I should and should not love and I would never in my life tell anyone who they can or can not love. It is not your place and has nothing to do with you.”
Beautifully stated, and a wonderful sentiment that we can fully get behind! Kudos, Ariana (and Florence!!!), a job well done on this one!

For the 26-year-old former Victorious star, of course, this means keeping things relatively tight-lipped about the new man in her life — reportedly El Lay high-end real estate agent Dalton Gomez. It also means learning her lesson from a notoriously high-profile and volatile past relationship with comedian Pete Davidson, as both exes are still feeling (and causing) some fallout from that one with their comments in the media and at shows.
No matter about all that, though… we can only wish Ariana the best going forward with her new plan to keep things (relatively) quiet on social media when it comes to her love life. Get it (and don’t feel the need to spread it), girl!!!
