There might be room for one more on The Avengers team!
If Andrew Garfield gets his way, Spider-Man is going to be swinging into action with Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, and the whole crew!
Oh HELL to the yes!
A. Garf gave his blessing to sharing the screen with Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, and Chris Evans in a crossover film during an interview this week. The actor said:
“I would love that. I know that the fans would love that, the fans of the Marvel universe├óΓé¼┬ª the more the merrier, the bigger the better.├óΓé¼┬¥
Bigger is right!
Can you imagine the level of blockbuster this flick would amount to!
HUGE!!!
Amazing Spider-Man director Marc Webb (ha, webb!) also wants to see these superheroes unite. But getting them together might be an impossible feat.
Because their powers are no match for the Hollywood movie execs!
Turns out, Disney holds the rights to The Avengers franchise while Sony still owns Spider-Man. Marc admitted they tried and failed at getting a crossover project off the ground but the studios squashed it like a bug!
Lame!
He explained:
“There├óΓé¼Γäós efforts that were made [to make a crossover cameo happen] but obviously nothing came to fruition.├óΓé¼┬¥
Looks like the fate of the universe rests in the hands of some money-hungry suits!
Blugh. We’re not so hopeful this will ever happen. We guess we’ll have to settle for Batman vs. Superman!
