Ayesha Curry Shares Her Secrets To Losing 35 Lbs During Quarantine!

Ayesha Curry shares quarantine health tips

Still trying to lose that COVID 15 you gained during quarantine? Ayesha Curry is here to help!

Months after revealing she had lost 35 lbs during the pandemic, the cookbook author and wife of NBA star Steph Curry sat down (remotely, of course) with Yahoo Canada Lifestyle and shared how she was able to stay active and healthy while quarantining at home.

The 31-year-old told the outlet:

“Being healthy isn’t just about what you do in the gym or in the kitchen, it’s about the in-between too and how it all fits together.”

Of course, workouts are an essential part of staying fit. But Ayesha doesn’t need a gym to get her fitness on: all she needs are two- and three-pound weights, resistance bands, a mat, and a bench or chair.

She explained:

“I’m very into bodyweight, so I don’t need much, equipment-wise.”

The mother-of-three also has her handy dandy Fitbit to mix up her workouts. She added:

“Fitbit Premium has come in handy through quarantine. It was great while I was traveling and out of my routine — I was able to tap into the vast library workout content anytime, anywhere so I didn’t fall off track. It’s a great resource for at-home and on-the-go workouts.”

As for what she puts in her body, Ayesha said her day typically begins with a coffee with Ghee and coconut oil blended. She tries to stay hydrated by drinking 32 ounces of cucumber or lemon-flavored water by noon, and makes sure she gets her veggies in, too.

Curry said she and her hubby, as well as their children Ryan Carson, 5, Riley, 8, and Canon W. Jack, 2, are a “green veggies family,” telling the publication:

“We love Brussels [sprouts], asparagus and broccoli. I like to roast them on high heat to give everything a nice char and enhance the flavor of the veg. There’s nothing I love more than a one-pot/one sheet pan dinner, so most nights I’ll season up a protein and roast it alongside the vegetables.”

Ayesha also makes healthier versions of classic dishes, including chicken parm, which is “nostalgic” for her because it’s one of the first things she made when she started dating the basketball star. She shared:

“I do a lighter breading using panko instead of regular bread crumbs, and whip up a super-fast and fresh tomato sauce for the topping.”

Yum!

The actress went on to explain how important sleep is for a healthy lifestyle, adding:

“I’d never realized how much sleep impacts everything else, but what I’ve learned from my Fitbit sleep data is that I don’t get enough of it, so that’s the next thing I’ll be working on… It’s connected to so much of our overall health and is so important.”

Any excuse to hit that “snooze” button is fine by us, LOLz! In addition to her solo workouts, Ayesha likes to incorporate active activities with her husband and kids. She shared:

“Stephen and I have been riding bikes outside together which has been really nice, or try and time our workouts together… It’s kind of like summer camp with Stephen and I both home. So we try and keep the kids active.”

It’s hard to stay active during these crazy times, so we’re glad Ayesha’s out here reminding us to get our butts moving! Have you lost any weight during the pandemic, Perezcious readers?
