It’s All About That Bass these days…
If you ask Meghan Trainor, we probably bet she’d thank her curvaceous bod and hit booty single for the rocket ship to fame she’s been riding all summer!
But did you know both Beyoncé and Adele turned down the bodacious anthem for themselves?!
In a new interview, Meghan revealed that many artists got to preview the jam, but she was ultimately the right fit for the flavor:
“I’ll bet some of them didn’t even know the song was being pitched to them. Some artists get thousands of songs pitched and they never know, so Beyonc├â┬⌐ herself probably never heard it. Most of these other artists’ A&R teams said they couldn’t do anything with the song because they didn’t have [the right] artist. That was the problem ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ there weren’t any singers at the time [who fit the song]. Adele was the only one, but she wasn’t rapping and singing sassy songs with swears in them. But I’m down ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ I get all the performing royalties!”

This talented songstress even confessed the inspiration, and metaphors behind the empowering song – including the meaning of bass and treble:
“It’s like thickness and thin: bass is big and treble is the high, thin stuff. Bass is like booty, but treble isn’t boobs. It’s just a joke about thick and thin.”
Well hot diggity damn! It’s her hit and we love it!
So glad Meghan got to keep this song for herself, because we can’t see it making sense anywhere else!
