'BH90210' Cast Reportedly Only Raking In $70K Each Per Episode Of The Meta Reboot

bh90210 cast not making a lot per episode

Despite the massive success and fan base of Beverly Hills: 90210, the cast may not be making as much as you might think for their meta reboot!

While the premiere episode of BH90210 ranks as Fox’s most-streamed summer debut ever, and the first trailer took the most-watched spot among all new summer shows in 2019, the cast isn’t making as much as you may think, according to new reports.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Tori Spelling, Jennie Garth, Gabrielle Carteris, Shannen Doherty, Jason Priestley, Brian Austin Green, and Ian Ziering are only making $70,000 each per episode of the semi-revival series, where the OG West Beverly High gang play heightened versions of themselves, preparing for a reboot of the beloved ’90s show.

Each of the cast members are billed as executive producers of the series, with bestiez Spelling and Garth each taking home an extra $15,000 per episode for their co-creator titles. Priestley, who directed one episode of the show, earned an extra $46,000 for his work — the basic Directors Guild of America primetime network directing rate.

The series reflects the real life journey of the Donna Martin and Kelly Taylor portrayers attempting to get the gang back together for a reboot of the show. The cast recently gathered for the Television Critics Association‘s summer press tour to clear up any confusion about the first-of-its-kind reboot.

Per THR, 26-year-old Spelling shared with the crowd:

“We can’t ever top the amazing 10 years we had when we started 30 years ago. We wanted to do something fresh and groundbreaking like we did originally.”

While a second season has not been ordered yet, it seems the cast wouldn’t be opposed to continuing the series based on its performance over the six-episode arc. Ziering commented:

“You might see an authentic episode … but right now, it’s all about the journey of us coming together.”

Piggy-backing, the former Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood star hinted:

“We have so many stories to tell that this could keep going on season after season.”

Excluding Luke Perry, who tragically passed away of a stroke in March, seven of the eight main original cast members have all returned to the show, including other stars from the OG show — which per industry history could have meant a pay increase, according to THR — Doherty wasn’t on board initially:

“I wasn’t going to do it. Nothing against the show; I knew it’d get sold and do well with or without me. They didn’t need me. At that moment, it wasn’t what I wanted to be doing. When Luke passed away, things drastically changed for me. This was a great opportunity to honor him. I’m glad I made that decision and get to sit up here with people I love. It’s been an amazing journey together, and we got to heal together after losing somebody who means a lot to us.”

We’re SO glad Shan joined the cast! It’s not the same without Luke, but tragedy has a way of bringing people closer than ever.
