Laura may have mysteries… but Debra puts it all out in the open!
It’s no secret the world of country music is much more conservative than the rest of uber-liberal Hollywood, but that doesn’t mean they’re completely immune from political conversation.
In fact, country’s biggest name Blake Shelton found himself in the middle of a Twitter row on Thursday when Hillary Clinton supporter Debra Messing grilled The Voice mentor on how he was voting in the 2016 Presidential Election!

Debra is all about feminism, so she tried to use her platform as an actress to urge fellow NBC star Gwen Stefani into making sure her man votes Democrat this November, saying:
Omg. How? @gwenstefani please talk to your man to not vote for the person who will STRIP you of your rights🙏🏻 https://t.co/V7sSrzWuqk

As you may recall, Blake made headlines earlier in the week when he said he doesn’t like to talk politics… but admitted he was probably leaning towards Donald Trump.
The headline that Debra was reacting to was one that translated Blake’s comments as an outright endorsement.
But he wasn’t about being called out — particularly through his better half — for something he hadn’t done. The Came Here For A Good Time singer wrote to everyone judging his political leanings:
Hey before this gets going like it always does… I haven’t enforced ANYBODY for president. And I not going to. I don’t do that shit.

My comment about “wish there was another option but there’s not” is across the board…period. Now go dig up another story.

Scary as it is to think Drumpf is actually a possibility for anyone, it’s still unfair to judge based on pure speculation.
After a bevy of comments, Deb quickly realized the error of her ways, tweeting:
Ok- I regret commenting. My passions got the better of me. Sorry. @gwenstefani @blakeshelton

Seems nice enough to us!

Luckily, Blake graciously accepted her apology — but also used the moment to once again make sure people knew he never actually endorsed the GOP nominee, tweeting:
Thank you sis.. I don’t endorse anybody. For this very reason!! ├░┼╕╦£ΓÇÜ https://t.co/KCEU9h0Vc5

We would hope that being friends with enough minorities would keep Blake from voting for Trump in the first place… but we guess we’ll just have to wait and see how this all plays out.
Do U think we’ll see more celebs fight like this as we get closer to Super Tuesday??
