Yeah, you heard us. Book of Mormon, The Movie. You know who wants this to happen?

You, US … and the masterminds behind it all, Trey Parker & Matt Stone!

As Book of Mormon conintues to be a force to be reckoned with on the Great White Way, the South Park dudes turned Broadway producers admit that they have big plans for the show behind the twinkling lights of New York. In their minds, they’re already planning on making a big screen adaptaion of the show, probably in the next “several years” confirmes Trey.

Matt elaborates that the show still has a lot of ground to cover on Broadway and during its tour, but insists that when BOM is ready for the big screen, it will already have a well-arranged team in place. Matt explains:

“We want to do it some day. The great thing is, a lot of Broadway teams would have to go team up with a Hollywood producer and bring on a Hollywood director, but Trey’s a director and Scott [Rudin’s] a great producer. We’ve all made movies. So it’s kind of cool, it can stay in the same family.”

That is VERY cool – and VERY smart. You don’t mess with a good thing and you guys definitely have a good thing going with this show.

We can’t wait to see this … and the show itself, when it makes it to L.A.!
