Britney Spears is making some concerning friends amid her divorce…
According to Page Six on Thursday night, the pop star has been getting close with a former member of her household staff — who just so happens to have a criminal history!
Sources told the outlet the 37-year-old man’s name is Paul Richard Soliz. He was allegedly hired to work for Brit about a year ago as a housekeeper to “clean toilets, mop floors and pick up trash.” Shockingly, an insider who claims to have knowledge of the situation alleged he was hired without a proper background check, which would have disclosed a lengthy alleged criminal past.

Why wouldn’t they do a background check for someone working IN the A-lister’s home!? That seems like a major f**k up!
It’s also true that it would’ve been obvious Paul has a sketchy past. Page Six ran a report and found the housekeeper was convicted of one count of disturbing the peace in April 2014. He was also charged with child endangerment, but that was dismissed due to a plea negotiations, per court docs. In 2016, he was convicted of driving without a license, and a separate charge of driving with a suspended license was dismissed due to a plea negotiation.
His most recent issue with the law was last year — while he was working for the Toxic artist, per sources. Via court records, Soliz was convicted of felony possession of a firearm in December 2022. Yikes! The confidant did not reveal why or when he was fired.

Because of this past, the insider is “concerned” that Britney is continuing to spend time with and not hiding her newfound friendship with the individual. We can understand why, especially as some sources have noted the Crossroads alum is in a very vulnerable place after losing her main support system.
Of course, the 41-year-old is going through a lot right now as she splits from her husband of nearly 14 months, Sam Asghari. It’s no wonder she’s turning to friends for help right now… but we hope she’s picking the right ones! The musician was last seen out with a mystery man on multiple occasions last week, including a late-night run for chicken and a trip to Starbucks on Wednesday. It’s unclear if this was Paul.
