Britney Spears' Friends Fear Alleged 'Severe' Mental Health & Addiction Issues Are Just Getting Brushed Off

Britney Spears’ Friends Worried AF As She Brushes Off ‘Severe’ Mental Health & Addiction Issues

Britney Spears went to rehab immediately after her DUI arrest, but those in her inner circle are still not convinced she’s got all the help she needs right now.

As Perezcious readers know, the Princess of Pop was arrested for DUI in early March. She then went to rehab for less than three weeks, and when she got out, she accepted a plea deal, pleading guilty to “wet reckless.” She’s now on probation for 12 months, must complete a three-month DUI program, and see a psychologist once a week and a psychiatrist twice a month.

Unfortunately, shortly after returning home, controversy broke out after Brit Brit was accused of acting erratically while out to dinner — though her team has strongly hit back at the allegations. Still, there’s a growing worry behind the scenes that she’s not ok, an insider told Radar Online on Thursday:

“Everyone wants to give her the benefit of the doubt but the fact she checked out of rehab after less than a three-week stay doesn’t bode well from a lot of people’s perspectives.”

Taking any time for yourself is good, but when you have the kind of alleged issues Britney does, three weeks isn’t very much time at all, the source explained:

“Her issues with anxiety and substance abuse problems are so severe that it’s laughable for her to claim she’s magically on track after such a short stint. Anyone with her issues needs a bare minimum of 30 days’ treatment, usually 60 or ideally a full 90 to learn the tools that are needed for a full reset.”

And if it were up to her inner circle, she wouldn’t have left so quickly, an insider added:

“Nobody stood in her way when she wanted to leave because it’s ultimately her life and her decision.”

And yet…

“But they’re hoping and praying she checks herself back at the earliest opportunity. She desperately needs to take this path to sobriety seriously and such a short stint of treatment is by no means enough.”

All anyone can ask for is a supportive friend group. Mental health issues are complex and can’t be solved in a day. We hope those around Britney just continue to look out for her and do what they can to help!
