Jamie Spears Files Request To Extend Britney's Conservatorship In 3 Key States -- But Why??

Britney Spears’ dad is making legal moves that would make his daughter considerably less free.
According to The Blast, Jamie Spears filed a notice on Tuesday asking a judge to register her conservatorship in three states outside California, which would extend his reach of control over her in Hawaii, Florida, and Louisiana.
The court docs do not give an explanation as to why Brit’s dad, who has been in control of the Toxic singer’s finances and career since her 2007 breakdown, wants to be declared conservator in these particular states.

But sources close to the situation tell the outlet that these are the states the 38-year-old visits the most — the songstress and her family have property in Louisiana and Florida, while Brit regularly vacations in Hawaii during the summer —  and that Jamie most likely wants to make sure she’s well cared for when she travels.
The sources also stress that the filing is routine and not at all connected to the recent drama surrounding Brit’s conservatorship and mental health.

As we reported, the conservatorship was put under a microscope after fans grew concerned that the superstar was involuntarily checked into the wellness center she recently spent 30 days at and was being held there against her will.
At a status hearing earlier this month, a California judge ordered an investigation into Britney’s entire management team, including Jaime, to determine if the restraints on her conservatorship should be loosened. In addition to that, the Pop Princess, who reportedly told the judge that she was held at the mental health facility against her will, was ordered to undergo an evaluation.

Of course, this all comes at the height of the #FreeBritney movement, which has seen thousands of fans demanding that the star be granted control over her life and career. Throughout the drama, Britney’s team has maintained that they’ve always had her best interests in mind, arguing that she’s still not in the right state of mind to be calling the shots.
Interestingly enough, this new filing could also be Jamie’s attempt to prevent someone else from contesting the conservatorship, or filing a new one, in another state.
The insiders say there’s no reason to believe that anyone is filing a conservatorship in another state — but the timing is suspicious, especially since Brit’s mom Lynne Spears recently filed a request to be more involved.
