Britney Spears' Lawyers 'Aren't Happy' Her Family Is Spilling Tea On Her Conservatorship!

We weren’t the only ones caught off guard when members of Britney Spears‘ family recently decided to comment on the growing controversy surrounding her conservatorship.

Though the pop singer has been under the legal protective order since 2008, it was only a couple of weeks ago when her brother, Bryan Spears, gave a rare interview addressing the #FreeBritney movement, which fans launched over fears of the star’s well-being. Now, sources close to the situation have revealed that even more family members have promised to come forward and share their perspective on the movement!

Spears’ siblings, including Jamie Lynn Spears, and mother, Lynne Spears, are planning to “give more interviews that would sway public support to end” her conservatorship, per Us Weekly. Unsurprisingly, Brit’s legal team is NOT happy about all of the tea-spilling! One insider noted:

“Britney’s lawyers aren’t happy the family is going public with comments about how she feels about it and hopes for the future of being free.”

Uhh, overprotective much? We’ve heard how strict the conservatorship has been amid rumors that Britney is controlled like a “robot” and “unable to speak for herself.” Does this extend to her family, too? What about their legal right to freedom of speech, even if it’s slightly controversial?

These litigators could be trying to prevent something really bad from getting out, essentially proving #FreeBritney supporters right. As we mentioned earlier, Brit’s 43-year-old brother said the entertainer has “always wanted to get out of” her conservatorship, adding:

“It’s very frustrating to have. Whether someone’s coming in peace to help or coming in with an attitude, having someone constantly tell you to do something has got to be frustrating.”

But it wasn’t long before Spears’ dad, Jamie, spoke out and countered that notion. He slammed “conspiracy theorists” rallying around his daughter and called #FreeBritney a joke in a recent interview:

“All these conspiracy theorists don’t know anything. The world don’t have a clue. It’s up to the court of California to decide what’s best for my daughter. It’s no one else’s business.”

He reminded the 38-year-old’s fans that their support has no place in their private matters, adding:

“I love my daughter. I love all my kids. But this is our business. It’s private.”

As we’ve pointed out, those kinds of comments didn’t do much to quell fans’ concerns. But can we honestly expect her family not to have an opinion after Brit’s conservatorship made headlines all of these years? If we’re being honest here, though, the biggest threat to the singer’s legal team right now is their primary client.

Britney’s Tell-All!

In case you missed it, an insider recently told the UK tabloid Heat that the momma of two is getting ready to sing like a canary the moment she gets the chance to:

“Britney is gearing up to break her silence in a tell-all interview. She’s been following the #freebritney movement eagerly. She’s got so much she wants to say and now she believes it’s time for the world to hear her full story.”

In addition to the interview, Spears is said to have collected “meticulous notes through the years, with hand-written diaries” about her supervised lifestyle, so a book could be in the works, too. Regardless of the medium, her mission is to let the public hear from her directly:

“As much as anything though, Britney wants to reassure people she’s not this cooped-up, controlled ‘robot’ who’s unable to speak for herself.”

We’ll be on the edge of our seats until we hear more from the beloved star and her fam!
