This is all so sad to hear about Britney Spears…
Following her shocking DUI arrest earlier this month, a lot of things have been up in the air about the pop star. Is she okay? What happened to get her to this point? What’s going to go down at that May 4 court hearing? So many questions we don’t have answers to yet as we continue to wish her the best. But new insiders for US Weekly are giving us a little glimpse into the time leading to her arrest.
The first source expressed their concerns about not being able to “force” anything on the singer:
“It’s a delicate situation. Everyone around Britney wants her to be healthy and stable, but you can’t force her to do anything.”
They even went on to say her DUI arrest was inevitable due to her recent behavior:
“It wasn’t a matter of ‘if’ but ‘when’ she would get arrested. [Her loved ones] are just relieved no one was hurt.”
Britney’s loneliness also plays a big role in this, per the insider:
“She spends a lot of time alone at home, which leads her to make bad choices. She has this tendency to think she’s kind of invincible, especially since she’s been free from the conservatorship. For a while, she felt like there were no real consequences, but lately, it’s started to catch up with her.”
So, so sad… We can’t imagine how difficult it was for her to go from full conservatorship to having that much freedom so suddenly. What a shock to her system.
A second source went on to say the 44-year-old’s known struggles with ADHD medication Adderall are an issue. They claim “she started falling back into old habits” after her conservatorship ended:
“[Pills] are her real vice. She’s been privately struggling with it for two to three years now.”
Remember all those vacations to Mexico she took, too? Those were a bad influence on her, per the first insider:
“That environment wasn’t good for her. She had access to all kinds of pills, and there wasn’t anyone really keeping things in check.”
While a third source elaborated that she was “going to the pharmacy there for pills, including Adderall, because it’s more accessible than in the States”:
“That environment wasn’t good for her,” says the first source. “She had access to all kinds of pills, and there wasn’t anyone really keeping things in check. It’s not a safe place for her because there’s a lot of access to over-the-counter things. Who knows what she is getting and how it’s making her act.”
Just terrible. Poor Britney…
The second source also revealed that Brit Brit had a “care plan” that ultimately didn’t work out:
“A care plan was established when Britney’s conservatorship ended, but it’s been hard to enforce without the court involved.”
The first source agreed, and added that the Princess of Pop went through multiple life coaches:
“There were multiple times when Britney refused to follow the plan, and she would fire the coach, then bring him back, and then fire him again.”

Another life event that made things start going “downhill” for Britney was her breakup with Sam Asghari when she started dating her housekeeper Paul Richard Soliz, per the insiders:
“When Britney was with Sam, she was doing pretty well. He’s a very structured person and would work out and eat well.”
Meanwhile, a fourth source came forward to express extreme concern about Britney. They say her ex Kevin Federline‘s book actually isn’t to blame for her behavior, although she was “deeply upset” by it:
“It didn’t help matters, but her issues predate it.”
Hmm… we mean, there’s always a straw that breaks the camel’s back, right?
And as for what she’s up to now? She’s with her family:
“Jayden’s there with her, and she’s seen Preston too. [Her mom Lynne Spears] is very worried and has been keeping tabs on the situation through Britney as well as her team.”
The third source claims the Toxic singer “was devastated and inconsolable after the arrest” and that her mental health “is a big concern”. But the first source says she “listens to” her sons “the most” — so it’s good she has them around!
They also added that even though the Oops… I Did It Again! hitmaker wants to get better, it’s not that “simple”:
“Britney has admitted she needs help, which is a big step, but getting her there isn’t simple. People are treading very lightly because [there are sensitivities].”
Her temporary conservator back in 2021 Jodi Montgomery also had a detailed care plan for Britney after the termination of her conservatorship, claims the insider, “but no one followed it”. And while the idea of another conservatorship has been floating around in the media, they can’t just give her one based off her “bad decisions,” per Phillips Nizer LLP‘s guardianship leader Elizabeth Adinolfi. Syracuse University law professor Nina A. Kohn also told the outlet a second conservatorship “seems unlikely”.
As for her upcoming court hearing, one source said:
“Everyone is just praying that she doesn’t get jail time for this. That would be the worst-case scenario.”
The fourth source added:
“Everyone hopes Britney will get the help she needs to get her life back on track. It won’t be easy unless she feels ready. You can’t force it.”
While the third source finally concluded:
“Everyone just wants her to be healthy and happy.”
Ugh! We all just want the best for Britney. We really hope this was a wake-up call and she’ll be able to get back on track to being her healthiest self.
